Thank you Jackie W., Riko F., and Linda S, Theresa W. for your donations to my Relay For Life Fund. I’ve put your names in the pot for the drawing for 2 pair custom knit socks. To date I’ve raised $130. Thank you to all of you who’ve donated, you rock!
If you would like to donate $10 and receive a chance to win 2 pair custom knit socks you may go to my Personal Donation Page. These socks are a $40 value and I will make them custom to your shoe size and color request. Let’s Sock it to Cancer!
The Llamas we saw yesterday were so regal. I’ve never been in the midst of llamas and the kids and I had so much fun. We saw sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and dogs (I loved the dogs!) But with all those animals running around, there were no cats? Oh yes, we also saw a buck, doe and fawn. One doe was walking across the road in town. The kids said we should not call the town Brookings but Doeings.
I’ve been working on the Camp Jacket.
I’m knitting the fronts at the same time on the same circular needles so they match. It is going very fast and I actually think it will be completed, blocked and ready to wear when we go camping in August. I must be stylish whilst camping!
It’s misting outside today so it will be a great day for socks. I purchased some new Opal yarn yesterday and I can hardly wait to knit it up. I also spent Saturday space dying 6 skeins for socks. I asked KT what her favorite colors were and where to put the colors. She said sky blue, cantaloupe and cranberry. Hmmmm, this should be interesting.
Finally, the garden is growing gang busters. I need to thank my oldest son Jeff for all the hard work he did shoveling dirt, making raised beds and spreading gorilla bark. After living here 16 years it was time to re-build my kitchen garden. We had fresh red potatoes with garlic, onions and basil all picked fresh from the garden. Nothing beats growing your own potatoes. It is so easy. If you don’t have a kitchen garden, just purchase a large bag of potting soil, poke holes in the bottom, stand it up in a sunny spot and stuff a couple potatoes down about 6″. You’ll have potatoes growing inside the bag and green out the top. When you’re ready to harvest, in about 60 days, just dump the soil in your garden and take out the potatoes! Simple….just remember to water depending upon the weather! Enjoy.
